With the text being extracted and mapped to corresponding 835 fields, we can then check for certain types of characters (or number of characters) in specific alpha-numeric sequences. We can also compare certain data fields with other data sources such as the spelling of a last name, patient ID or date of birth. If any extracted data doesn’t meet certain criteria or match to a previously verified record, it is then flagged for review and editing by our staff to correct the questionable information.
